Privacy Policy

evprairie ("we", "us") helps people across Canada estimate electric-vehicle rebates and connect with verified local installers. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the rights you have over it. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Québec's Law 25.

Information we collect

• Rebate calculator inputs: the vehicle price, province, property type, and similar details you enter to generate an estimate.
• Contact and quote details: when you request a quote or join a waitlist, your name, email address, phone number, postal code, and any notes you provide.
• Subscription details: the email address and province you give us to receive rebate-change notifications.
• Technical data: basic request information (such as IP address) used to protect our forms against abuse and to keep the service running.

How we use your information

• To calculate and show your rebate estimate.
• To connect you with a verified installer when you request a quote.
• To send transactional messages you asked for, such as your saved estimate.
• To notify you of rebate changes if you subscribed to updates.
• To secure our forms, prevent spam, and improve the service.

Sharing with installers

When you request a quote, we share the details you submit with the verified installer we match you to, so they can contact you about your project. We do not sell your personal information, and we don't run your request as an auction to multiple callers. Installers are independent businesses responsible for their own handling of your information once you connect with them.

Spam and bot protection

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect our forms from automated abuse. Turnstile may run invisibly, assessing your browser and interaction signals in the background without showing a challenge. To do this, Cloudflare processes limited technical data such as your IP address and browser characteristics. This processing is governed by Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Email consent and unsubscribing

We send commercial and transactional email in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You subscribe to rebate-change notifications through a double opt-in: we email you a confirmation link and only send updates after you confirm. Every notification includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by emailing contact@evprairie.com.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and then delete or anonymize it. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.

Where your information is processed

Our service runs on cloud infrastructure that may store or process data in data centres outside your province, including outside Canada. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives a comparable level of protection wherever it is processed.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA and Québec Law 25, you may:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Ask us to delete your information or withdraw your consent.
• Make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above, and significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
